Solidarity among wine sector associations calling on U.S. Congress
- undefined
Major U.S. wine associations – Napa Valley Vitners, WineAmerica, The Wine Institute, and the U.S. Wine Trade Association – are jointly lobbying Congress on key issues, including tariffs, regulatory staffing, and health guidelines, as reported by The Drinks Business.
The Wine Institute’s Charles Jefferson stressed the dangers of inconsistent trade policy, warning that “tariffs always lead to retaliation.”
WineAmerica’s Michael Kaiser voiced concern over potential cuts to the Tax and Trade Bureau by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying, “We are the one industry that likes our regulations.”
The coalition is also urging transparency in the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines and continued federal support for wildfire prevention.
