OIV releases State of the World Vine and Wine Sector in 2024

On April 14th 2025, the OIV released its report State of the World and Wine Sector in 2024 – Adaptation and Cooperation, covering data from 180 countries.
Global wine production hit its lowest in over 60 years, largely due to climate-related weather extremes. Consumption also dropped to its lowest since 1961, driven by inflation, geopolitical instability, and changing consumer habits.
Despite the declines, supply and demand remained balanced. Export volumes held steady, though export values dipped slightly.
