Thailand postpones implementation of the Certificate of Analysis

Thailand has postponed implementation of the Certificate of Analysis (COA) until September 14, 2018. The full COA requirements mandate that importers of alcoholic beverages submit COA documentation or submit samples for COA testing and receive the results before applying for an import permit. Under the new notification, until September 14, 2018, the Excise Department will allow samples of alcohol beverages (or COA documentation) to be submitted within 30 days from the day that the product is imported. This implies and was confirmed by the Thai Excise Department that it will issue import licenses prior to the completion of the test results.
