The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is looking at the possibly deleting 196 additives from the existing food additives list. As a first step in the process, the authorities have launched a survey for Japanese manufacturers and importers to express their views on whether they use the additives and wish to keep them on the list. The survey will be extended to overseas stakeholders in May. As a result, spiritsEUROPE prepared a draft list of the additives we would like to keep using. Comments were requested by 8 March.
