Finland: New government may ease state alcohol monopoly model
- undefined
Although only Finland’s state-controlled monopoly store currently may sell alcohol beverages in that country, Finland’s new government reportedly intends to allow small domestic breweries, distilleries, and wineries to sell products directly to consumers from their production sites.
This article also suggests that the new government intends to permit those domestic producers to sell their products online, might liberalise the sale of 15 percent strength wines, and might transfer the responsibility for alcohol legislation from Finland’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Health to its Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
