Following the recent visit of Australia’s trade minister to Beijing, the Australian government reportedly has “no update” regarding Chinese tariffs on Australian wine, because China “remains unhappy” about Australia’s investment rules, including its bans on Huawei.
During the minister’s visit, China reportedly also sought Australia’s endorsement of China’s membership in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and opposition to Taiwan’s membership.
