The Australian parliament has reportedly passed legislation enabling Wine Australia to establish an online database of all Australian export wine labels to identify and prevent the use of copycat labelling, building the confidence of international consumers of Australian wines. The government has committed $417,000 in funding to support the development of the directory, as well as contingency funds from the $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package. The database is expected to commence in April 2021. Source: FIVS
