Alcohol beverage producers were leading profit contributor to China’s light industry in 2021

According to a China National Light Industry Council report, China's alcohol beverage producers were a leading profit contributor to China’s light industry, accounting for 13.8% of China’s major light industry profits in 2021.

The total profits of those alcohol beverage companies with revenues of at least 20 million yuan (3 million euro) was 194.9 billion yuan (30 billion euro).

Production of spirits was down 0.6% and production by major wine companies fell 29.1% in 2021, while production of major breweries rose 5.6% in 2021.
