The World Trade Organisation (WTO) has announced the appointment of panelists to adjudicate the dispute surrounding the anti-dumping duties imposed on Australian bottled wine by China in 2021. The next step will involve Australia and China filing written submissions by a date agreed upon with the panel. Australia’s Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment has said that Australia remains open to further discussions with China to resolve this issue. Brazil, Canada, Chinese Taipei, the European Union, India, Japan, Korea, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United States have reserved their third-party rights to take part in the proceedings.
