Following an exchange between Australian and Chinese trade officials attending the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, the two countries have reportedly agreed that the Australian and Chinese trade ministers will meet virtually within weeks, possibly followed quickly by an in-person meeting in China, to discuss China’s trade restrictions on Australian wine, lobster, and barley. China imposed duties of 116-218% on Australian wines in containers up to litres in March of 2021.
